Royal Caribbean has officially taken delivery of Legend of the Seas, the newest addition to its Icon Class lineup.
The handover took place at the Meyer Turku shipyard in Finland, where executives, shipbuilders, crew members, and project partners gathered to mark the vessel’s completion.
The delivery represents another important step in Royal Caribbean’s long-term investment in larger, experience-focused ships designed to serve as destinations in their own right.
From Construction to Completion
Legend of the Seas began taking shape in January 2024 when construction started at Meyer Turku.
Over the following two years, thousands of workers contributed to the project before the ship was officially handed over to Royal Caribbean in June 2026.
Before entering service, the vessel will undergo final preparations in Spain ahead of its inaugural season.

Legend of the Seas will make its debut on July 4, 2026, with a seven-night Mediterranean cruise departing from Rome.

- La Spezia
The ship will spend its initial season sailing Mediterranean itineraries before relocating to North America later in the year.
Heading to the Caribbean
Following its European deployment, Legend of the Seas will begin Caribbean operations from Fort Lauderdale.
The ship is scheduled to offer six- and eight-night cruises visiting destinations across the Eastern and Western Caribbean.
