If you’ve ever booked a Caribbean fly-cruise from the UK, you know the holiday really starts at the airport.
Long-haul comfort matters — especially when you’re heading off for two weeks of sunshine.
That’s why P&O Cruises has officially locked in three major airline partners for its 2026–27 winter Caribbean season.
It’s a move designed to give British guests a smoother, more premium start to their cruise experience.
And yes — air-inclusive packages are once again front and center.
Two Ships, Multiple Departure Points, One Seamless Package
For the 2026–27 winter season, P&O Cruises will base both Arvia and Britannia in Bridgetown, Barbados.
These ships will operate primarily 14-night Caribbean voyages, covering Eastern and Southern Caribbean itineraries.
Select longer sailings — including a 28-night Christmas and New Year cruise — will also be available.
One standout feature? Arvia will allow guests to embark on either:
- Barbados
- Antigua
That flexibility makes planning easier, especially when flight routes vary by departure city.
Example Itinerary: A Taste of the Caribbean

Take Arvia’s November 28, 2026, sailing as an example. Guests board in Antigua and cruise through:
- St. Lucia
- Grenada
- Barbados (overnight stay)
- Martinique
- St. Kitts
- St. Maarten
- Tortola (BVI)
After debarking some passengers in Antigua, the ship continues island-hopping before returning to Barbados.
It’s the kind of classic Caribbean itinerary UK cruisers love — warm waters, colorful ports, and minimal sea days.
Which Airlines Are Operating the Flights?
To support these fly-cruise packages, P&O has renewed agreements with three established carriers.
Virgin Atlantic
Virgin Atlantic will operate:
- A full aircraft charter every two weeks.
- Using an Airbus A330.
- For select Arvia departures from Barbados.
Guests can choose between:
- Economy
- Premium Economy
- Upper Class
That’s a big upgrade for travelers who value comfort on long-haul Caribbean flights.
TUI Airways
TUI Airways will serve Barbados from:
- London Gatwick
- Birmingham
- Manchester
On select dates, additional regional departures will operate from:
- Belfast
- Bournemouth
- Edinburgh
- Exeter
- Glasgow
- Newcastle
For UK cruisers, that means fewer connecting journeys and more regional convenience.
Norse Atlantic Airways
Norse Atlantic will operate:
- Saturday flights from London Gatwick and Manchester to Antigua.
- Regional services to Barbados from Cardiff, Glasgow, and Newcastle (on selected dates).
This gives P&O Cruises broader geographic coverage across Great Britain.
Why P&O Is Doubling Down on Air Quality

According to Paul Ludlow, President of Carnival UK and P&O Cruises, the flight experience is part of the holiday, not just transportation.
His message was clear: when guests book a fly-cruise, the experience begins at take-off.
By maintaining relationships with Virgin Atlantic, TUI Airways, and Norse Atlantic, the cruise line aims to deliver:
- Consistent onboard service standards.
- Reliable long-haul aircraft.
- Better in-flight comfort.
- A more premium travel experience.
And let’s be honest — when you’re flying 8–9 hours to the Caribbean, seat comfort and entertainment make a difference.
What Happened to the Previous Charter Partner?
If you’ve followed P&O’s fly-cruise program closely, you might remember a previous charter carrier: Maleth Aero.
That partnership ended in February 2024 after guest complaints surfaced about:
- Lack of premium seating options.
- Limited in-flight entertainment.
- Overall, long-haul comfort concerns.
At the time, leadership acknowledged passenger frustrations and committed to improving the flight experience moving forward.
Since then, the cruise line has leaned more heavily on TUI Airways — and now solidified partnerships with Norse Atlantic and Virgin Atlantic for broader coverage and enhanced onboard offerings.
What’s Included in the Fly-Cruise Packages?
P&O’s air-inclusive packages typically include:
- Return flights from UK airports.
- Meals and select beverages are onboard.
- In-flight entertainment systems.
- Checked baggage service.
- Transfers between the airport and the ship.
Virgin Atlantic passengers also have the option to upgrade to premium seating classes for additional comfort.
For many UK cruisers, having flights, transfers, and cruise bundled into one package simplifies planning — especially during the busy winter Caribbean season.
