Just over a month after bringing back Free at Sea, Norwegian Cruise Line has announced a new premium upgrade called “Free at Sea Plus.”
It’s designed for cruisers who want a more truly all-inclusive experience — especially when it comes to drinks, Wi-Fi, and gratuities.

What Is Free at Sea Plus?
Free at Sea Plus is a paid upgrade on top of the standard Free at Sea fare.
It adds more premium perks and removes some of the biggest onboard extras that guests typically pay for separately.
- Cost: $49.99 per person, per day
- Applies to: All NCL sailings 2 nights or longer
- Eligible sailings: Departures on or after February 1, 2026
- Booking opens: December 18, 2025
Everything included in Free at Sea Plus is in addition to what’s already part of Free at Sea — not a replacement.
Drinks Get a Major Upgrade (Especially on Great Stirrup Cay)

One of the biggest selling points of Free at Sea Plus is the expanded beverage access, both onboard and on Norwegian’s private island.
With Free at Sea Plus, guests get:
- Starbucks coffee (one drink per visit)
- Energy drinks and fresh juices
- Bottled water at the bar
- Premium bottled water (still & sparkling) in restaurants
- Top-shelf spirits
- Unlimited open bar at Great Stirrup Cay

Important Change for Great Stirrup Cay
Starting March 2026, guests with regular Free at Sea will no longer be able to use their drink package on Great Stirrup Cay.
Only guests with Free at Sea Plus will receive free drinks on Norwegian’s private island.
If you’ve ever spent a full beach day on Great Stirrup Cay, you already know how quickly drink costs can add up — this change alone will make Plus very tempting for many cruisers.
More Specialty Dining — For Less
If specialty restaurants are part of your cruise routine, Free at Sea Plus adds extra value here, too.
Once you’ve used up the free specialty dining nights that come with Free at Sea, Free at Sea Plus gives you:
- 50% off additional specialty dining nights
That’s a big deal for longer cruises or for guests who enjoy dining in places like Cagney’s, Le Bistro, or Ocean Blue more than once.
Unlimited Streaming Wi-Fi (No More Tiered Internet)
Let’s be honest — cruise Wi-Fi is one of those things people complain about the most.
With Free at Sea Plus, guests get:
- Unlimited high-speed streaming Wi-Fi
- One login per guest
- Usable on one device at a time
- Applies to all guests in the stateroom
