Passengers aboard Silver Whisper witnessed an unforgettable rescue at sea this week after the luxury cruise ship dramatically changed course to save an injured sailor stranded alone in the Pacific Ocean.
The emotional rescue unfolded on May 26, 2026, during Silversea Cruises’ 24-night voyage from Tahiti to Vancouver — and many guests onboard said it became one of the most powerful moments they had ever experienced at sea.
What started as a normal day crossing the Pacific quickly turned into a real-life emergency mission involving rough seas, a damaged sailboat, and a desperate race against time.
Distress Call Sends Cruise Ship Off Course
The incident began after Silver Whisper received word that a sailor aboard a disabled vessel named April Alice needed urgent help.
