The FBI has charged a hairstylist who worked aboard the adults-only cruise ship after investigators alleged he sexually assaulted female passengers by pretending to offer complimentary massages that were never part of the ship’s salon services.
According to federal prosecutors, the alleged incidents occurred during a nine-night Alaska cruise, and authorities believe additional victims could potentially come forward as the investigation continues.

Federal Investigation Focuses on Two Reported Victims
Court documents identify the accused as Pranit Narayan Pawar, a 26-year-old Indian citizen who had been employed as a hairstylist aboard Brilliant Lady, Virgin Voyages’ newest cruise ship.
According to the criminal complaint filed by the United States Attorney’s Office for the Western District of Washington, Pawar allegedly used salon appointments to build trust with female passengers before offering what he described as free massages.
Investigators say the alleged incidents happened during the ship’s June 23, 2026 Alaska sailing, with the reported assaults occurring around June 26.
Authorities allege that after guests accepted the offer, they were escorted into a small private room located next to the salon where the so-called massage took place.
Federal prosecutors have currently filed charges involving two passengers, although investigators believe there may be additional victims.
Allegations Describe Inappropriate Contact Without Consent
According to the FBI’s complaint, the women believed they were receiving a complimentary service connected to their salon appointments.
Instead, investigators allege Pawar placed his hands underneath the victims’ clothing and touched intimate areas without their permission.
In one reported incident, authorities say the hairstylist allegedly shut and locked the room before beginning the inappropriate contact.
The complaint states that none of the alleged physical contact was consensual.
Officials also noted that one passenger was reportedly encouraged to schedule two additional hair appointments after being told she would receive another complimentary massage.

The “Massage” Was Never an Approved Service

On Brilliant Lady, legitimate massage treatments are available only through the ship’s Redemption Spa, located on Deck 5.
They are not offered in:

- Stubble & Groom Barbershop
- Hairstyling stations
According to court filings, Pawar admitted during an interview with FBI Special Agents that massage therapy was not included in his job responsibilities.
He also acknowledged that neither the salon nor the onboard barbershop officially provided massage services for guests.
That admission became an important part of the investigation because prosecutors argue the complimentary massage offers were used solely to gain private access to passengers.

Although only two criminal counts have been filed so far, investigators say the case may not be finished.
According to the FBI complaint, Pawar reportedly told investigators he had taken approximately four or five women into the private room for massages during his employment.
