Guests preparing to board Carnival Pride in Baltimore faced unexpected changes after severe winter weather slowed the ship’s return.

The delay forced Carnival Cruise Line to revise embarkation plans, pushing check-in times back by several hours while the cruise line worked to keep the sailing on schedule.

Although the situation has caused inconvenience for passengers, Carnival says the ship is still expected to operate its Bahamas itinerary without major disruptions.

Winter Storm Slows Ship’s Return to Baltimore

Carnival Pride was originally scheduled to return to Baltimore early on Sunday, February 8, 2026. However, poor weather conditions prevented the ship from arriving on time.

Instead, the cruise line confirmed the vessel will now reach port sometime in the mid-afternoon.

Carnival informed guests ahead of time, explaining that rough seas and unfavorable conditions made the delay unavoidable.

Weather has been disrupting multiple cruise schedules across the U.S. East Coast in recent weeks, and Carnival Pride became the latest ship affected.

As a result of the delayed arrival, embarkation plans for the next sailing had to be completely reorganized.

Embarkation Times Shifted by Five Hours

Every guest scheduled to board Carnival Pride received updated terminal arrival instructions, with check-in appointments moved five hours later than originally planned.

Here’s how embarkation times have changed:

  • Guests originally scheduled for 12:00 PM check-in must now arrive at 5:00 PM.
  • Guests with a 2:30–3:00 PM arrival window must now check in between 7:30–8:00 PM.
  • All passengers must complete boarding procedures no later than 8:00 PM.
  • The ship will depart Baltimore as soon as embarkation is finished.

Carnival is also adjusting airport transfer services to align with the revised schedule, helping travelers reach the port at the correct time.

Guests Urged Not to Arrive Early at the Cruise Terminal

Carnival Cruise Line emphasized that arriving before the new assigned check-in time will not allow guests to board sooner.

This is because the ship must first complete several important turnaround procedures, including:

  • Allowing current passengers to disembark.
  • Processing guests through customs and immigration.
  • Removing luggage and clearing terminal areas.
  • Cleaning and preparing staterooms for new guests.

Carnival warned that early arrivals could create congestion and slow down the boarding process further.

First Night Dining and Onboard Operations Adjusted

Because embarkation will take place later than usual, Carnival Pride will modify its first-night dining arrangements to make things easier for guests.

Instead of fixed dining schedules, the ship will offer:

  • Open seating in both main dining rooms.
  • Flexible dining availability throughout the evening.
  • Normal service at the Lido Marketplace buffet.
  • Announcements when staterooms are ready for occupancy.

These adjustments ensure passengers can settle in comfortably despite the delayed start.

Bahamas Itinerary Still Expected to Proceed as Planned

At this time, Carnival has not confirmed any itinerary changes for the 7-night Bahamas cruise.

The ship is still scheduled to visit:

  • Half Moon Cay
  • Nassau, Bahamas
  • Celebration Key

Because the delay is relatively short, Carnival Pride may be able to maintain its planned schedule by adjusting speed once the ship heads south.

Guests will receive onboard updates if any port changes become necessary.

Carnival Pride Ship Overview and Capacity

Carnival Pride is a Spirit-class cruise ship designed for medium-sized cruise experiences with a strong balance of entertainment and comfort.

Key ship details include:

  • Gross tonnage: 88,500
  • Passenger capacity: approximately 2,124 guests
  • Crew members: over 900
  • Homeport: Baltimore, Maryland
  • Regular itineraries: Bahamas and Caribbean cruises

The ship has operated from Baltimore for many years and remains popular with East Coast cruisers.

Weather Continues to Impact Cruise Schedules Along East Coast

Carnival Pride’s delay is part of a broader pattern affecting cruise ships this winter.

Strong storms, high winds, and rough seas have disrupted:

  • Ship arrivals and departures.
  • Embarkation schedules.
  • Port visits across the Bahamas and Caribbean.

Cruise lines are prioritizing passenger safety while working to minimize disruptions.

Delayed Start, But Cruise Still Moving Forward

Although Carnival Pride passengers experienced a five-hour embarkation delay, the cruise is still expected to sail with minimal impact to its planned Bahamas itinerary.

Carnival’s revised boarding schedule and onboard adjustments aim to ensure guests can still enjoy their vacation — even if it begins a little later than expected.
