If you’ve ever tried to upload a quick vacation photo while sailing the Caribbean, you already know cruise WiFi can feel just as unpredictable as the ocean itself.
And now, as December rolls in, Carnival Cruise Line has quietly nudged those WiFi prices upward — leaving many cruisers doing the math on whether they really need to stay connected or if a digital detox might be the cheaper choice.
Carnival’s updated rates officially kicked in on December 1, 2025, and along with the increase, the cruise line also rolled out a couple of new premium options designed around cruise length.
So, whether you’re trying to check emails, stay in touch with family, or keep your social feed updated with sunset selfies, here’s what these new prices mean for your next sailing.
Carnival’s Latest WiFi Pricing Breakdown

Anyone who has sailed with Carnival knows that their internet packages have always come with options — but now, each tier has become a bit pricier.
Some plans can be pre-purchased at a discount (and trust me, if you’re even slightly considering internet, pre-purchase is almost always the smarter move).
Below is a breakdown of how Carnival’s WiFi plans now stack up.
Social Plan — Best for Staying Connected Without Heavy Browsing
If you’re someone who mainly wants to check in on Instagram Stories or send the occasional Facebook message to let everyone know you’re still afloat, the Social Plan is Carnival’s entry-level option.
- $25.00 per day onboard
- $20.40 per day pre-purchased
This new pricing reflects an increase of $3 per day onboard and $1.70 per day if purchased in advance.
One thing to keep in mind — this plan must be bought for the full duration of your cruise. You can’t simply grab it for a single sea day when boredom hits.
A quick personal tip: This plan won’t work well for websites or email, so if you need more than social apps, consider moving up a tier.
Value Plan — A Better Middle Ground for Browsing & Messaging
This one tends to be the “sweet spot” for cruisers who don’t need video streaming but still want to browse the web or use standard apps.
If you’ve ever tried to Google “is the ship rocking more than normal?” during a storm, this is the plan that will get you those answers.
- $32.00 per day onboard
- $23.80 per day pre-purchased
Carnival increased the rate by $6 per day onboard and $1.70 per day for pre-purchased plans.
Unlike the Social Plan, the Value Plan can be bought for just a single day, which is helpful if you only need internet to check in with work mid-cruise.
And a nice perk: iMessage and FaceTime audio/video work on this plan, which is a lifesaver for families traveling in different cabins.
Premium Plan — Faster Speeds & Better Access
If you’ve ever tried joining a Zoom call in the middle of the Caribbean (no judgment — some of us literally have!), you know you need a bit more bandwidth.
Carnival’s Premium Plan is the fastest single-device option they offer.
- $35.00 per day onboard
- $25.50 per day pre-purchased
This reflects a jump of $9 per day onboard and $1.70 per day for pre-purchases.
If you only need Premium for one specific day — maybe a work meeting or telehealth appointment — you can buy it for $37 for just that day.
Just keep expectations realistic: even “premium” cruise WiFi still can’t compete with land-based speeds.
Premium Multi-Device Plan — For Families or Serial Scrollers
If you’ve ever traveled in a group where everyone insists they “only need to check one thing,” you know exactly how valuable a multi-device plan can be.
Carnival’s updated pricing puts this tier at:
- $90 per day
- This is a $6 increase from previous pricing.
- Important: This plan cannot be purchased onboard — it must be bought before your cruise.
A helpful detail: This plan can be shared with guests in other staterooms (a nice surprise!) but can’t exceed four total devices.
For families, this can sometimes be cheaper than buying separate plans — but only if everyone truly needs premium-level speeds.
New WiFi Packages Introduced

To go along with these price increases, Carnival also launched two brand-new options that combine Premium WiFi with the onboard HUB Chat feature — the tool most cruisers use to message other guests on the ship.
Premium WiFi + HUB Chat Bundle
Pricing depends on cruise length:
- $30.50 per day for 3–5 day cruises
- $32.50 per day for 6+ day cruises
This bundle makes sense if you’re already leaning toward Premium WiFi and also plan to use HUB Chat to coordinate with friends or family.
On some sailings, HUB Chat becomes the group’s “meeting point” — especially when half your group inevitably wanders off toward the pizza counter.
And just like Carnival’s other packages:
- iMessage is included in every WiFi plan
- FaceTime works with the Value and Premium plans
How to Buy Carnival WiFi Before Your Cruise
Guests can pre-purchase any of these WiFi plans by:
- Logging into the Manage My Booking section on Carnival.com
- Calling The Fun Shops at 1-800-522-7648
From experience, here’s a quick tip:
Pre-purchase as early as possible. Carnival occasionally adjusts prices, and buying early locks in your rate.
Also, WiFi can sometimes sell out on busy sailings — especially when the ship is filled with working professionals or social media lovers.
