The company has officially completed the second phase of construction at its exclusive destination on Grand Bahama Island, dramatically increasing how many cruise ships can visit at the same time.
It’s a clear sign that demand has been stronger than expected, with more ships already scheduled to call than the original design could comfortably handle.
The latest upgrade doesn’t just benefit Carnival Cruise Line; it benefits guests.
For the first time, passengers sailing with other Carnival Corporation brands will soon be able to experience Celebration Key as well, making the destination an important hub for the company’s entire cruise portfolio.
Celebration Key Can Now Welcome Twice as Many Ships
When Celebration Key first opened in July 2025, the destination featured space for two cruise ships to dock simultaneously.
Less than a year later, that capacity has doubled.
Carnival Corporation has completed a new pier extension that increases the total number of berths from two to four, allowing significantly more passengers to enjoy the destination on the same day.
The expansion was finished ahead of schedule and is expected to have an immediate impact on operations.
According to Carnival Corporation, the larger pier will:
- Increase docking capacity from two ships to four.
- Welcome more than 13,000 guests in a single day.
- Add approximately 200 additional ship visits each year.
- Bring an estimated 700,000 more visitors annually.
The additional space also gives the company greater flexibility when scheduling ships across multiple cruise brands.
Carnival Says Demand Has Exceeded Expectations
Celebration Key has quickly become one of the most popular destinations in Carnival Cruise Line’s Caribbean itineraries.
The private destination is already included on sailings from 20 Carnival ships departing from 10 different U.S. homeports, making it one of the fastest-growing destinations in the company’s network.
Beginning in September 2026, three-ship and even four-ship days are expected to become a regular part of operations.
That growing demand is one of the biggest reasons Carnival moved so quickly to complete the expansion.
Company CEO Josh Weinstein said finishing the project ahead of schedule allows the cruise line to accommodate the strong interest it’s seeing from both guests and cruise planners while welcoming even more visitors sooner than originally expected.
More Cruise Brands Are About to Join the Fun
Until now, Celebration Key has primarily served Carnival Cruise Line ships.
That’s about to change.
With the expanded pier now complete, other Carnival Corporation brands are preparing to make their first visits to the destination later this year.
Princess Cruises Arrives First
Princess Cruises will become the first sister brand to visit Celebration Key.
The inaugural call is scheduled for November 1, 2026, when Star Princess arrives during a round-trip Caribbean cruise from Fort Lauderdale.
Additional Princess ships expected to visit include:
- Star Princess
- Sun Princess
- Regal Princess
- Caribbean Princess
- Sky Princess
These ships will bring guests from both Fort Lauderdale and Port Canaveral, introducing Celebration Key to thousands of new passengers.
AIDA Cruises Follows Shortly After
Just over a week later, Germany-based AIDA Cruises will make its debut at the destination.
Scheduled arrivals include:
- AIDAdiva — November 9, 2026.
- AIDAluna — November 16, 2026.
Both ships will visit during Caribbean cruises departing from New York City.
The expansion means Celebration Key is gradually evolving from a Carnival Cruise Line destination into a shared vacation stop for several Carnival Corporation brands.
Good News for Grand Bahama
The benefits of the project extend beyond cruise passengers.
Bahamian officials welcomed the expansion, saying it will continue generating tourism, employment opportunities, and business growth across Grand Bahama Island.

During its second year of operation, Carnival projects roughly 3.5 million visitors will experience Celebration Key.
That’s an increase of nearly one million guests in just twelve months.
