A late-night buffet run aboard a Carnival cruise ship turned chaotic when a fight broke out among passengers in the Lido Marketplace at around 2 a.m.
Chaos in the Buffet Line
Video captured by passenger Mike Terra and widely circulated on social media shows the confrontation escalating quickly — with shouting, punching, and tackling.
At one point, shoes and even a mobile phone were hurled across the room.
One bystander can be heard yelling, “Where the f— is security?” as a crew member attempted to intervene.
Terra, who filmed the incident, later told the Daily Mail UK:
“Over chicken tenders is crazy… There was more to the fight than just fried chicken, but that is really the basics.”
Carnival’s Zero-Tolerance Policy

Carnival Cruise Line has not yet issued an official statement, nor has it been confirmed which ship the incident occurred on.
However, Carnival enforces strict rules against violence and disruptive behavior:
- Guests involved in fights can face stateroom confinement, disembarkation without refund, and a $500 fine.
- Repeat or severe offenders may also receive a lifetime ban from the cruise line.
“All guests must acknowledge and commit to our code of conduct during the check-in process,” Carnival states.
A Growing Pattern of Onboard Fights
This isn’t the first time passenger disputes have made headlines this year:
- August 2025 – A fight involving more than a dozen guests erupted outside the Carnival terminal in Long Beach, California.
- June 2025 – On Carnival Sunrise, passengers were banned after throwing punches and even chairs during a lido deck altercation near the pizzeria.
To address rising incidents, Carnival has reinforced its “Have Fun. Be Safe” guidelines, including:
- Curfews for under-17 guests.
- Stricter enforcement of smoking and drug policies.
- Zero tolerance for disruptive conduct.
Still, isolated outbreaks like this buffet brawl continue to grab attention online.
Social Buzz: Here’s What People Are Saying
On Reddit’s r/Cruise, reactions ran the gamut from sarcastic to concerned:
“Maybe Carnival should embrace this constant chaos and just start holding UFC fights on board.”
“Maybe this happens only on short, affordable sailings — the clientele shapes the experience.”
On Carnival fan boards, opinion was split:
“The chicken tenders are okay, but not that good. Fighting over them is ridiculous.”
“I’ve cruised with Carnival for 20 years — I’ve never seen anything like this.”
