For Millić Šarović, the evening had just begun like any other workday at sea.
After completing his shift as a restaurant manager aboard Carnival Celebration, he sat down to enjoy dinner in one of the ship’s many dining venues.
Before he could even begin eating, another crew member rushed over in distress, telling him that something was seriously wrong.
Šarović immediately got up and ran toward a growing crowd.
When he arrived, he found an unconscious infant lying in the middle of a desperate scene.
According to his account, the baby appeared to have stopped breathing after choking while eating.

As he reached the family, Šarović quickly assessed what was happening.
People nearby were trying to help, but he believed the child was choking and needed immediate intervention.
Without hesitation, he picked up the little girl and began performing emergency first aid.
Later, speaking to local media in Montenegro, Šarović admitted the moment was terrifying.

He continues performing with the rock band 9 while also serving as one of Carnival Celebration’s senior restaurant managers.

The rescue took place aboard Carnival Celebration, one of Carnival Cruise Line’s largest and newest ships.
