Carnival Cruise Line has officially removed one of the biggest planning headaches for non-drinkers sailing next year.
After months of waiting, the Cheers Zero Proof package is now open for every 2026 sailing, letting guests lock in pricing early instead of waiting until onboard.
This update is especially welcome for cruisers who don’t drink alcohol but still want unlimited access to specialty beverages without paying à la carte prices all week.
What Cheers Zero Proof Includes
Cheers Zero Proof is designed for guests who want premium drinks without alcohol. It goes far beyond soda and basic coffee.
Included options typically cover:
- Specialty coffees and espresso-based drinks.
- Milkshakes and smoothies.
- Energy drinks and bottled juices.
- Zero-proof cocktails and mocktails.
- Alcohol-free sparkling wine.
It’s essentially a full “vacation drink experience” without the alcohol.
Pricing and Availability for 2026
As of January 27, the package is available to pre-purchase for all 2026 Carnival cruises.
Key details:
- $29.99 per person, per day when bought before sailing.
- Available on U.S. and Australian departures.
- No daily drink limit for non-alcoholic beverages.
Carnival’s brand ambassador, John Heald, confirmed the update and clarified how the package works in practice.
Important Rule: The 10-Minute Wait
Even though there’s no cap on how many drinks you can order, Carnival enforces a 10-minute wait between each beverage.
Why this matters:
- The rule applies to all drink packages, alcoholic or not.
- It’s designed to prevent sharing.
- You’ll need to pace orders—even for coffee or milkshakes.
In reality, most guests won’t find this restrictive, but it’s worth knowing before purchasing.
Cabin Rule That Trips People Up
One rule continues to frustrate some cruisers, and it’s important to understand it before booking.
Here’s how it works:
- If one adult (21+) in a cabin buys the regular CHEERS alcohol package.
- Any other adult (21+) in that same cabin cannot buy Cheers Zero Proof.
- That second adult must also buy the regular CHEERS package.
However:
- If no one in the cabin buys the alcoholic CHEERS package.
- One adult can buy Cheers Zero Proof without forcing others to do the same.
This policy hasn’t changed, and Carnival has made it clear there are no exceptions, even for medical or personal reasons.
A Workaround Some Guests Use
For couples or cabinmates where one person drinks alcohol, and the other doesn’t, some guests choose an alternative approach:
- Both adults buy Cheers Zero Proof.
- Alcoholic drinks are purchased individually as needed.
This avoids paying for two full alcohol packages, though it may not be ideal for heavier drinkers.

Opening Cheers Zero Proof for all 2026 sailings gives non-drinkers:
