Princess Cruises has announced two very familiar faces as the godparents of its newest ship, the Star Princess — Academy Award–winning actor Matthew McConaughey and his wife, entrepreneur and best-selling author Camila Alves McConaughey.
The couple will officially christen the ship in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, on November 6, 2025, during a glamorous naming ceremony.
This tradition, which has previously included icons such as Princess Diana, Audrey Hepburn, and Sophia Loren, marks the beginning of a new chapter for Princess Cruises.
