Passengers aboard Allure of the Seas thought they were enjoying a normal sea day in the Caribbean — until an unexpected announcement changed the rest of their vacation plans almost instantly.
Midway through the sailing, Royal Caribbean informed guests that the massive Oasis-class ship was dealing with a propulsion issue serious enough to force a last-minute itinerary adjustment.
As a result, the planned stop in Falmouth was completely cancelled.
Instead of continuing toward Jamaica, the ship turned around and headed back toward Nassau much earlier than expected.

- One sea day afterward.
- Return to Nassau again on the originally planned date.
So technically, guests are getting two separate days in the Bahamas instead of one stop in Jamaica and one in Nassau.

Passengers who booked excursions in Falmouth through Royal Caribbean don’t need to do anything themselves.
The cruise line confirmed all Jamaica shore tours will automatically be cancelled and refunded as onboard credit.
If any of that money remains unused by the end of the cruise, it will later be returned to the payment method linked to the booking.
Guests who booked private tours independently, however, may need to contact operators directly to avoid cancellation fees.
Ship Still Expected Back in Florida on Time
Despite the propulsion issue, Royal Caribbean says there should be no impact on the ship’s final return schedule.
Allure of the Seas is still expected to return to Fort Lauderdale on May 30 as originally planned.
At this point, there also hasn’t been any indication that the following cruise will be delayed or adjusted.
That upcoming sailing is still scheduled to depart on time for an 8-night Eastern Caribbean itinerary.
Allure of the Seas Has Been Facing Multiple Changes Recently
This latest disruption adds to a growing list of itinerary adjustments involving the ship lately.
Over the past few weeks alone:
- A January 2027 cruise was shortened by one full day.
- A May 2027 sailing also lost an entire day.
- Another future sailing was cancelled for a full-ship charter.

That doesn’t necessarily mean the ship is facing major long-term problems, but it has definitely been an unusually busy stretch of operational changes for one of Royal Caribbean’s most popular Oasis-class ships.
